The SUPERMAN: DOOMED epic continues! Superman barely survived his battle with Doomsday and now realizes that his wounds are not healing. Not only that, but he’s suffering disturbing physical and emotional side effects. He is changing…and the newly enlisted Men of S.T.E.E.L. – Metallo, Ghost Soldier, Atomic Skull and Steel – are about to find out into what!

My Rating: 6 out of 10

After Superman’s battle with Doomsday, he begins to act differently.  It’s subtle at first, imagining beating the crap out of Lex Luthor (we’ve all been there) but that is enough to disturb him.  He feels as though he should get away and figure out what’s happening while Batman takes a sample of the area where Superman fought Doomsday to see if he can help Superman.  After hanging with Krypto in a forest, Superman reacts badly when witness to poachers and almost kills them.  Not a dream this time.  Superman’s DNA is changing and spikes are growing from his hands.  What is the Man of Steel becoming?

The Good:

Fun to see Superman beat the crap out of Luthor (slightly brutal) even if it was in a thought.  The shift in Superman’s psychological profile is fascinating and very creepy.  This is not the guy you want to be having these thoughts.  He’s the most powerful hero on the planet and he’s starting to enjoy this dark thoughts a little too much.  Could this be the end of our hero as we know it? Guess you’ll need to read to find out!  The art was good for the scenes of “scary Superman,” the last page was great.

The Bad:

More of a chiller story than anything else, liked it all the same but it’s a little slow (I’m sure it’s building up to something big though).
